First pair of designer shoes...

I've always lusted over having a pair of designer shoes, but I've never actually wanted to splurge the £400+ price that it would cost me. To me it seems like something I should wait until I'm a bit older for as there are things which are a higher priority for me to be spending my money on right now. But when I came across these I just couldn't resist.

Like I said I don't want to buy any full price luxury items right now, so i'm always scrolling through the sale pages on websites hoping to find a bargain. It was just meant to be. There I was scrolling through just having a browse not intending to purchase anything... when I came across these gorgeous Giuseppe Zanotti heels. Usually the price range for their shoes are around £400-£1000 but these were discounted to £149 and only had one pair left in stock. My size! I was over the moon and just had to have them. They are a dream.

As soon as they came I couldn't wait to try them on, I'm a size 3 and I would say they are true to size however they are quite narrow and there is not much space to move your toes around so I am expecting my first wear to be a little painful. They are the perfect height for me, I like my heels to be high but some other pairs of Giuseppe Zanottis I have seen online are extremely high which wouldn't be appropriate for me. I'd end up breaking my neck or something! The colour is just stunning and I can see them looking amazing with a fitted black dress or casual jeans. I'm so excited to wear them for the first time but so anxious that I'm going to spoil them, but they are far too nice just to sit in the box.

What was your favourite shoe purchase? Let me know in the comments! Oh and let me know what sort of outfit you think I should wear with these shoes, ideas would be appreciated :)

What's your favourite highlighting product?

Who would have thought it would be so hard to find the perfect highlighter? Too glittery? Not pigmented enough? This post is for me to give some mini reviews on some of my own highlighters in the hope that some of you can give me some recommendations aswell.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish 'Centre of Attention' - Every girl loves a bit of sparkle don't they? This product definitely has a lot of that. It's not one of the most natural looking highlighters; unlike a lot of the liquid products out there. But it does look very pretty. I used it on a daily basis in the summer as it can look very subtle if you apply it gently, you can also build it up which I like to do if I'm going on a night out. However, I dont feel like this product looks as good in the winter when my skin is paler because of the amount of gold, it's just not the same when there's no sun out. Even though it's mostly pink in the packaging, the gold pigment is over powering so don't be fooled. I really loved it in the summer, but won't be wearing it as much now. Can anyone recommend a pretty powder highlighter?

Topshop glow - this has a very creamy consistency and I like to apply it by rubbing it in and then blending it out. I wasn't sure that this was going to suit me because it looks very white, but when I rub it in it actually looks surprisingly natural and has a nice champagne shimmer to it. It is more pigmented than the Nars Illuminator but the glow doesn't look quite so natural.

Nars Illuminator 'Hot Sand' - My personal favourite is definitely this. I know the shade 'Copacabana' is a favourite among many, but I opted for this shade because I thought it would go better with my skin tone. I have quite tanned skin and I think it's the perfect shade. The consistency is quite watery which makes it easy to blend and look natural on the skin. I apply it using my fingers and then blend it out slightly using the Real Techniques sponge so that there are no harsh lines. I think it gives a really natural sheen and healthy glow which is what I was hoping for when I bought the product. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking for the same results as me.

Please let me know your favourites in the comments, thanks for reading :)

Michael Kors

So 18 seems to be the age that everybody waits for and last week i finally turned 18. To me it has never been much of a big deal but it's a 'special' birthday - so I got a lot more spoilt by my friends, family and my boyfriend. There was nothing particular which I asked for but everybody knows that I'm a typical girly girl and what girl doesn't like jewellery or a new hand bag right? I'm still overwhelmed at everybody's generosity and very grateful for all the things I received. As I love to read blog posts like this I thought it would help me get into the swing of carrying on with my blog. So here is a photo of my beautiful bag and purse which i got from my brothers, auntie and uncle.

The first great thing I love about the bag is the appearance. I love the colours because I have never seen anybody else around with this specific design. The other thing I love is the size. My mum thinks I'm mad for carrying massive handbags around, but you never know when the content is gonna come in handy. Better to be safe than sorry. It could be seen as a down fall that these tote bags don't have a zip or any way of doing up, but I like everything to be easily accessible - plus there is a zipped compartment in the middle for all things you'd want to keep safe.

I am rather fussy when it comes to handbags so my brothers did a very good job in my opinion. What do you guys look for specifically when splurging on a new bag?

Spring/Summer Outfit

So, the sun was out this weekend but I didn't want to get my legs out just yet. I haven't even had the chance for them to get a tan yet, so i'd feel a bit naked if I was to go out wearing a dress. Me and my mum went shopping, I originally was looking for a skirt and top but ended up with a new pair of jeans instead. A light wash pair of jeans are definitely a must have for the summer time, especially for evenings when it might get a bit nippy if you're going to a bbq or something.

I can't buy anything new without buying something else to match, my mum actually stumbled across the Crop Top in the Topshop section in my local debenhams, and thought it would be perfect for the high waisted Petite Joni Jeans. I'm pretty much an all year round trainer kind of girl, and you'll literally find me wearing trainers with everything., but I am in love with my Kendra Fringed Shoes they are so versatile and will go with any outfit. They also come in a suede brown colour which I think I might have to invest in.

I'm so fussy when it comes to sandals, I really need to buy a nice pair ready for the summer! What's your favourite shoe to be wearing in the spring/summer season?

The Lipstick Tag

Okay, so lip products are definitely my weakness so I thought that this would be an easy post to ease me into the blogging world.

How many lipsticks do you own?
I'm not quite definite on how many I own, but i'd say around 25-30. To some people this would be seen as lots, but to others it's probably not many at all. Every time I go in the drugstore, it's just always something I end up buying, especially because of my student card which gives me 10% off in Superdrug. It just entices me to buy more, but you can never have too many to choose from right?

What was the first lipstick you owned?
I'm not quite sure, when I was younger I always had various pink glittery lipgloss' scattered all over the show. One of my first ever lipsticks which I wasn't just sneaking out of my mums make-up bag was probably a L'Oreal one. It was a really light pink colour with shimmer, it definitely didn't suit my skin tone so I just remember layering on lipgloss on top. Young Jessy thought she looked good, bless me.

What is your most worn lipstick?
My most worn lipstick...I'm not sure I ever stick to the same one as I like to go for a different one all the time. But it's probably my MAC - Crosswires with a creemsheen finish. It's such a wearable colour with the perfect pink/coral pigment. It's not too much and goes with absolutely everything.

What is your favourite finish?

I do like a matte finish because I feel it makes you look more dressed up and as though you've made an effort and it lasts all night. However, I often go for a more mousturising lipstick because it's easier to apply and feels nicer on the lips.

What was the last lipstick you brought?

I dont know if it counts as a lipstick because of the applicator, but it was one of the Bourjois Velvet Lip colours in the shade Peach Club. I loved it at first, but found after a while it felt a weird texture on my lips. It started to feel crispy almost, but it was probably because I had it on for too long. I need to try it out again as i've only worn it once.

How many lip products do you currently have in your bag?

Do I really have to go and check? I'd like to say I only have one because i'm a really organised person who clears out their bag on a regular basis. But that just isn't the case (excuse me whilst I go and look). So it turns out I had 3 lipsticks, a cherry Carmex, a Vaseline and a Maybeline baby lips in my bag.

What is your favourite lipstick brand?
This is tough, I have only got one MAC lipstick at the moment, which I absolutely adore. There aren't many places nearby me which sell MAC, and I like to look at all the colours before I buy, instead of buying online. My other favourite brand has probably got to be Rimmel, all of the Kate Moss collection. Although i'm not too keen on the moisture renew ones, they literally get everywhere possible, I found myself getting lipstick all over my work at college. I feel like I should be mentioning L'Oreal too. This is just too much of a difficult question.

How do you store your lipsticks?

I store them in a flowered box in my draw :)

Which lipsticks are you currently lusting after?
I am currently lusting after a Chanel or YSL lipstick, purely for the amazing packaging. Although, when it comes to buying one I always get drawn in to buying a new mousturiser, I do love a bit of skincare.

First Post - Origins GinZing

So after a year of just reading everybody else's blog posts I thought I would finally buck up the courage and write my own. I'm not too good at taking photographs or writing in general, but I enjoy fashion, beauty and skincare and this just seems like the write place to share my passion for it all. My family just see me as an obsessive make up hoarder or something. Hopefully anybody reading will actually understand me.

As seen as I had been doing extra shifts at work and i'd paid back my mum my never ending debt for my new phone, I decided it was time I should treat myself. So I decided to buy the raved about 'Origins Ginzing' moisturizer. I've read nothing but good reviews on the product, so i thought I would gain myself some more boots points and splash out £23.

Would I say that it is worth it? I didn't think so at first, but as the weather is getting warmer it feels so refreshing and light on the skin which i love. It smells really nice as orange is my favourite scent and it just gets me into the summer spirit. It has a really light consistency which is good, but it makes me feel as though it isn't benefiting my skin in any way. A lot of people said it would be good for under make up, but I like to know that i'm wearing a primer because my makeup never seems to stay in place by the end of the day.

Overall, this cream is going to be a staple piece when i go on holiday in the summer and i'll definitely be using it everyday, i'm trying my best to save it at the moment, but i keep finding myself going into the pot. Unfortunately, i doubt it's going to last me a long time because it's so tiny but a little does go a long way.
